Laminate (CPL / HPL) as a top layer

Laminate (CPL or HPL) is often used as a finish for the decorative top layer of an acoustic panel. In the production of laminate, various layers of, among other things, papers and resins are pressed under high pressure into a high-quality sheet material. HPL and CPL laminate offer many advantages such as various color options, the high degree of durability and the high wear and impact resistance. Perforated or grooved finishes can be chosen to provide added acoustic value.

CPL

CPL (Continues Pressure Laminate) is mostly the same as HPL, except that the laminate is produced on a roll. CPL therefore has the same composition as HPL, but the top layer is somewhat thinner and is applied from a roll. This makes CPL a cheaper solution than HPL.

HPL

HPL (High Pressure Laminate) is laminated under high pressure. The laminate consists of various melamine layers and is a combination of paper pulp with phenolic resin. HPL has a thicker top layer than CPL and is therefore more resistant to wear.

CPL or HPL laminate as a decorative top layer for an acoustic panel

Perforation

Perforations are applied to optimize acoustic performance , to enhance decorative values and to optimize the durability of the surface. (makes it washable and impact resistant). A wide selection of patterns is available.

PETAC ^® panels can contain micro-perforations (Ø 1.1 mm) or nano-perforations (Ø 0.5 or 0.6 mm). These make for high acoustic performance and are very decorative. The perforations are minimal and difficult to see with the naked eye, but have audible consequences. The perforations can be made in different patterns: widely spaced, close together, horizontally or vertically aligned, staggered,…

Grooved

With a finish with HPL you can also opt for a grooved look. The slotted wood sound absorber is a type of narrow resonance sound absorber with slits at the front and perforations at the back of the plate. These provide excellent acoustic and decorative value. Here too, an extensive range of options is available.
