Barbecook – Acoustics at the office

Barbecook is know for its different types of barbecues and barbecue accessories. They would also like to be referenced for their office space. In order to enable all employees to work in an optimal acoustic environment, some acoustic interventions were required. They chose to include acoustics in the design from day one.

We were able to greatly improve the reverberation time in the office space using our acoustic applications. The acoustic wall with grooved solid slats and the acoustic open pod make the modern interior of this office whole. Barbecook employees can now count on perfect room acoustics and a noiseless space to have meetings, individual work or relaxation.

Doordat er voor de bouw van dit kantoor gewerkt werd met harde materialen zoals beton en glazen wanden, moest er aandacht besteed worden aan de akoestische absorptie. De glazen wanden zorgen voor een open effect en garanderen een ideale lichtinval, maar creëeren ook veel geluidsweerkaatsing. In combinatie met de betonnen wanden zorgde dit voor een zeer slechte akoestiek.

Hard materials such as concrete and glass walls were used for the construction of this office. Attention had to be paid to the acoustic absorption. The glass walls provide an open effect and guarantee ideal light, but also create a lot of sound reflection. This resulted in very poor acoustics.

Wall with grooved and massive framework

We provided an open pod and a decorative, acoustic wall finished with grooved solid battens . These acoustic applications integrate perfectly into the existing, sleek architecture. The acoustics in the room were optimized by grooved, solid slats with underlying PETAC ^® (midnight) material. The sound is received through the gaps between the slats and absorbed by PETAC ^®.
