Sound absorption
Reducing reverberation time in a room can be done by absorbing sound waves. When absorbing sound, the sound waves are absorbed into the sound-absorbing material and cannot fully reflect. Part of the sound is converted into heat, the rest bounces back into the room. For this, porous material must be used such as melamine foam, mineral wool such as glass wool or rock wool OR in our case (PETAC) polyester wool. These products are ideal for optimizing the acoustics in a room. The absorption rate is measured in ALPHA values.
Sound insulation
Sound insulation provides optimal sound between the rooms . Sound insulation ensures that the sound cannot move from one room to another. Mass is a determining factor here. The higher the mass and density of a material, the better it can stop the sound waves. Materials such as concrete are very good at insulating sound. The sound-insulating materials must be heavy and completely airtight.
The noise level (dB) is an important measure here.
